A New Life for Old Furniture
Beautiful pieces, reimagined
There’s something rather special about a piece of furniture with a past.
The marks, details and craftsmanship found in older furniture give it a character that simply can’t always be recreated from new. Sometimes all it needs is a little imagination, careful restoration and the right finishing touches to begin an entirely new chapter.
That’s why upcycled and reimagined furniture will soon be joining the Petals & Patina collection.
Rediscovered. Restored. Reimagined.
As you may know, upcycling is a large part of our history. While the floristry has bloomed, we put this on the shelf for some time. Therefore, we are now actively seeking out furniture with interesting shapes, beautiful details and plenty of potential, then carefully transforming each piece to create something individual for the home.
Some pieces may be sympathetically restored to celebrate their original character. Others might be completely reimagined with new colours, finishes, handles, fabrics or decorative details. With Linen & Lace now becoming part of the Petals & Patina family, we’ll also have even more opportunity to combine furniture with beautiful upholstery fabrics and textiles.
The result will never be about making something old simply look new.
It’s about finding what makes a piece worth keeping and giving it the attention it deserves.
Furniture with a story
Choosing an upcycled piece also offers something increasingly rare: individuality.
Rather than furniture produced by the thousand, these are pieces discovered one at a time and transformed individually. Their age, construction and previous life all become part of what makes the finished piece unique.
It also means perfectly good furniture can be enjoyed for many more years rather than unnecessarily discarded – combining a more considered approach to interiors with the pleasure of owning something nobody else has quite the same version of.
Coming soon to the Store
Our collection of upcycled furniture will be arriving in the Petals & Patina Store in the future, with individual pieces added as they’re discovered and completed.
Because of the nature of the collection, many will be completely one-of-a-kind. Once they’re gone, they’re gone — although there will always be another interesting find waiting for its transformation.
We’ll be sharing those transformations here too, from forgotten furniture and work-in-progress pieces to finished designs and the inspiration behind them.
Old pieces. New stories. Beautifully reimagined.
